Fulton Kentucky beckons tourists with its charming small-town vibe and the unique Banana Festival, a quirky annual celebration tied to its history as a major banana distribution hub in the early 20th century. The Housing Authority of Fulton operates under the oversight of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which provides funding and guidelines. Its mission aligns with that of many public housing agencies: to offer decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.=

HUD’s mission is to create strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and quality affordable homes for all. HUD is working to strengthen the housing market to bolster the economy and protect consumers; meet the need for quality affordable rental homes; utilize housing as a platform for improving quality of life; build inclusive and sustainable communities free from discrimination, and transform the way HUD does business.

Housing Authority of Fulton Quick Facts
The Housing Act of 1937 established the public housing program.
In the 1960’s, the Department of Housing and Urban Development saw a need for housing modernization and implemented the Public Housing Capital Fund Program.
The staff have a combined 70 years of experience working at the housing authority!
We have 208 units – 4 of which are non-dwelling, including a police substation, head start home center and office, and an office for adult education.
The east half of the housing authority office is used for resident services, including West KY Allied, Four Rivers Behavioral Health and Laven Care.
At this time, we only manage public housing units. We do not manage Section 8 or vouchers.
There are over 36,000 public housing residents in the state of Kentucky.
