Housing Authority of Fulton Annual Recertification Information


Purpose

  • Required by law.
  • To verify tenant information, including income and family composition.
  • To determine continued eligibility of assistance.
  • To adjust rent calculations based on changes in income and employment.
  • To comply with HUD regulations.


Required Documents

  • Income Verification:
    W2, recent paystubs, social security award letter, child support, or proof of
    any other income.
  • Child Care Expenses.
  • Medical Expenses if you are elderly or disabled.
  • KY Welfare.


Process

  • You will be contacted when it is time for annual recertification. Typically by letter.
  • Drop off or email your required documents in a timely manner.
  • Office staff will complete your recertification paperwork.
  • You will be contacted when paperwork is ready to sign. Anyone 18 or older must sign
    paperwork.
  • If your rent increases, you will be notified 30 days prior to the increase.

Can I drop off required documents in the drive thru?
Yes.

Do all household members 18 or older have to sign at the same time?
No – you may come at different times to sign when paperwork is ready.

What if I didn’t change jobs and my household composition didn’t change?
You still have to recertify.

What if I don’t have all my required documents at the same time?
It is best to turn all documents in at once. This makes the process smoother.
